Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is located in Pittsboro, Mississippi. Points of interest in Calhoun County include: The sweet potato festival held in Vardaman (which happens to be the sweet potato capital of the world), the birthplace of General Fox Conner, as well as the birthplace of Elvis Presley found in Tupelo. Also nearby, in Lafayette County, is the University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss.
CCSO has a staff consisting of: 4 full time deputies, 8 part time deputies, 5 jailers, secretary, sheriff, 911 director, 3 full time dispatchers, and 4 part time dispatchers. The current Sheriff is Greg Pollan; who is currently in his first term of office. The CCSO serves a population of around 15,000 people. Something unique about CCSO is that they are an independent territory as far as phone systems go and they maintain their own on-site database for 911.
In the search for public safety records software CCSO looked over at least 5 different systems and came to the conclusion that eFORCE® would be good, the best they had looked at if not better and much lower in price. After meetings and demonstrations they felt like eFORCE® would be the best for the county. In March of 2012 CCSO joined eFORCE®. They are currently using eFORCE® Computer Aided Dispatch Software, Records Management Software and Jail Management Software.
“I love the technical support we are receiving. If I have any questions I just call or e-mail and they are resolved most of the time within a few hours. If it takes longer I receive an e-mail or even a phone call letting me know they are working on it and what is happening. I don’t feel like anyone is trying to hide anything or deceive me. If something just won’t work they let me know and they let me know that they are going to make it good or get it working some other way.”

As a newer agency CCSO has felt that the training and communication between eFORCE® and Calhoun County has been wonderful.
